Assessors DepartmentThe principal function of the Assessor’s Office is to ensure a fair and equitable assessment of all properties in the Town of Gates. Property assessment is the basis for taxes levied by the Town of Gates, County of Monroe, Gates-Chili School District and the Spencerport Central School District. Also, special district charges for the Gates Fire Department and the Gates Volunteer Ambulance, among others, are based on the assessed value of each property in the town.  Click here to learn more...

Building Department/Permit IssuanceThe Building Department and the Department of Public Works are listed together due to their close working relationship and the commonality of services to the community. Public Works Director Kurt Rappazzo, Building Inspector Terry Rech, and Diane Zavaglia help manage both departments. They oversee Town drainage issues, work with the Town’s contracted engineering firm, Costich Engineering, accept all Planning Board applications and serve as that board’s liaison.  Click here to learn more...

Finance/Human Resources

The Finance Department is responsible for maintaining all accounting records for the Town of Gates. The Director of Finance, Stephanie Licciardello, is appointed directly by the Town Supervisor and is confirmed by the Gates Town Board. This department is responsible for the daily financial transactions of the town, which include: maintaining all accounting records, payment of bills, reconciliation of bank statements, and monitoring cash flow and investments.
