Hunting and Fishing licenses are sold throughout NYS by an License Issuing Agent or online/by phone. The Town Clerk’s office is a License Issue Agent therefore you may purchase Hunting & Fishing Licenses during normal business hours M-F 8am-5pm. Persons purchasing hunting/fishing licenses must furnish proof of residency (driver’s license) and proof of eligibility for the licenses that they are purchasing. We accept cash, checks, credit card (Visa, MasterCard and Discover).

Hunting licensing are required for anyone 12 years and older and using a firearm or bow to hunt or take wild game. Persons under age 12 cannot hunt. The hunting season runs from Sep. 1st (current year) thru Aug. 31st (following year).

Licenses for the current Hunting Season go on sale on Aug. 1st each year. Hunters may also purchase their deer management permit. Deer Management Permits (DMP’s) may be purchased for $10.00 from Aug. 1st thru Oct. 1st. The DEC usually will open up a 2nd drawing to all hunters on a first come first serve bases starting Nov. 1st for DMP units that still have not reached its quota.

Fishing licenses are required for residents over the age of 16 who intend to fish in the waters of New York State. Fishing licenses are valid one year from date of purchase. The fee for the annual fishing license is $25.00. Resident senior citizens (70 years of age) can purchase their license at a reduced cost of $5.00.
